Solar garden lights have become very popular in Britain,
and are relatively inexpensive to purchase.
A solar panel on top of the garden light captures energy
from the sun during daylight to charge a Ni-cad battery.
At night a small LED light switches on automatically and emits
a warm glow to mark a path, steps, or set a mood in the garden.
The great benefit of Solar lighting is that the fittings
are not connected to an electrical supply, have no cables,
and can be moved easily from one location to another in a matter of minutes.
It is important to note that Solar lights do not produce a "beam" of light
that will effectively illuminate features in your garden.
Furthermore, the Ni-cad battery will require renewing periodically.
